Huancayo -The "insurmountable" city
Huancayo
is the capital of the province of Junin and is located approximately 250 km south-east of Lima in the Andes at an altitude of approximately 3,250 meters above sea level. The “insurmountable city”, as the locals affectionately call it because of its history, has around 400,000 inhabitants. Huancayo can be reached by air, road or rail.
